Szeretettel köszöntöm a kedves Olvasót!

Komolyzenei kalandozásainkat a Német-római Császárság területén kezdjük, a reneszánsz korban.
Ludwig Senfl (kb. 1486-kb. 1543) mondhatni a reneszánsz korszak csúcsán élt. Zenészi, zeneszerzői pályafutása Zürichben kezdődött, ahol is kóristafiú volt I. Miksa német-római császár udvari kórusában.
I. Miksa halála után körülményei rosszra fordultak, ugyanis V. Károly I. Miksa legtöbb zenészét, így Senfl is, elküldte. Ezután sokat utazott, hogy zeneszerzői állást kapjon, majd 1521-ben részt vett a wormsi birodalmi gyűlésen, ahol megismerkedett Luther és tanaival, és Luther szimpatizánsává vált (bár sohasem lett hivatalosan protestáns). Ezután Münchenben talált állást, ahol egy olyan nagyformátumú zeneszerzőt kerestek, aki méltán továbbviheti a város zenei hagyományait és ugyanakkor elfogadja a protestáns nézeteket. Ezután egészen halálig Münchenben dolgozott.
Bejegyzésem végéhez közeledve pár szót szeretnék ejteni a madrigál műfajáról.

I greet You with a great love, dear Reader! I am Áron Hímessy, composer.
The purpose of my blog to acquaint the Reader the world of classical music. I will use the YouTube’s classical music videos to show interesting music for You. The first viewpoint of the video selection is the quality of the music and not the imagery!
So… Come on!

We start our journey in the land of Holy Roman Empire, at the age of Renaissance. In the  Renaissance, the vocal music bloomed, the two main genre was the madrigal and motet. At the beginning of Renaissance was the homophonic editing the main direction of composing, but the end of the era was the heyday of the vocal polyphony.
The instrumental music took a back seat in this era, mostly underdevelopment of the musical instrument. But probably, the Renaissance instrumental music bloom, gratitude for the early music ensembles.
Interestingly, of this ear were not know German composer, however, in the Baroque era were a totally German prevalence.
In this post, I want present you a Swiss-born German composer, Ludwig Senfl.
Ludwig Senfl (born about 1486, died 1542 or 1543) lived in the Renaissance era. He started his career in Zurich, where he sang the court choir of Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor. Here met Heinrich Isaac (he was the leader of the choir and the composer of the court) who was his first master. Senfl followed Isaac to Vienna as a singer, and he studied three year there. After the stay in Vienna, he took a two years journey in Italy, the cultural centre of the era. After the death of Isaac, he got the title of the court composer.
After the death of Maximilian I, the things went wrong because Charles V fired the most musician thus Senfl too. He travelled widely, that he got a composer job. In 1521, he took part the Imperial Diet in Worms, where he became acquainted Luther and his doctrines, and became Luther’s sympathizer (but he never became formal Protestant). After this Diet, he got a job in Munich, where found a qualified composer, who cloud continue the musical tradition of the city and accept the Protestantism too. He worked in Munich until his death.
And finally, I write a few lines for the genre, madrigal. The madrigal is a short a capella choir piece, in which use homophonic or imitative technique of composing. It has a lyrical mood and secular theme. The madrigal is composed for chamber choir, this is evident, because the largest choir got 16 members at this time (and it functioned in Hungary, the court of Matthias I, Hungarian King). The number of the parts in madrigal is from 3 to 8. The lyrics can be a literary text, which language is often the native language of the composer.
In the end of the post, I share musical video from YouTube. In the video sounds a love madrigal from Senfl, Ach Elslein, liebes Elselein mein.
